Announcing a new PC game: Foederatus, a kingdom management / strategy RPG.
Giving final news on Steel Legion’s Kickstarter campaign.
Pre-pre-pre-alpha screenshot of the main menu without the game logo. The weakest teaser ever.
Live this late antiquity tale of a romanized chieftain uniting his clan on the Roman Empire fringes. In Foederatus, manage your kingdom’s resources, navigate emergent narrative events, and consolidate your diplomatic relations. Beware of every decisions as they will haunt you. The game will feature deep historical narratives (we have historians on the team!), gorgeous pixel art, and engaging strategic gameplay! Remember our influence from some newsletter ago? Think Six Ages/King of Dragon Pass, Yes Your Grace, Suzerain, etc. in Late Antiquity and with a smaller, more focused scope.
This is just a sneak peak for you special people on our newsletter. We’ll do an official announcement soon with a trailer, proper capsule art, finalized description, Steam Page… and soon to follow, a playable demo!
So give us your thoughts on this initial reveal! Are you excited? What do you look forward to? Anything you want to see in such a game?
The chip shortage situation we mentionned in our last newsletter is taken care of. Our publisher is finishing the orders from the previous games they had in queue. So stay tuned for a Steel Legion NES cartridge Kickstarter! The game itself and the Kickstarter page is finalized!
Of course we aren’t the only indie game studio making Ancient Rome related games. We’re happy to share with you the game Songs of Steel: Hispania, a strategy/tactical game set in the Roman Republic with beautiful hand-drawn illustrations.
If you find other hidden indie gems on Ancient Rome, feel free to share them with us and everyone on the newsletter!
We have a deep appreciation for old-school graphics and ideas. This game, Felvidek, is a testament to the fact it’s possible to make modern retro games with a touch of originality. If you like medieval (slovakian!) games and JRPGs, check it out!
We’d be happy to hear from you on our Discord server or in the comments below.
