For various reasons (some less simple than others to articulate clearly off the top of my head), the second out of the two at-large chiasms of the prophetic-apocalyptic books of Daniel and Zechariah in their fullness have intensely captivated my focus more than their preceding counterparts. In both of those Old Testament books, there exists an at-large affixed double-chiastic structure effectively demarcating the first half as a series of neatly structured “teaching”-oriented oracles and prophecies conveying the hope of Jehovah God’s victory for His covenant people as a yet-distant promise whose manifestation is peered at through a glass darkly, while the second half in a notably more jarring presentation of sublime elemental symbolism “cryptically” revelates the fulfillment of the victorious promise as assuredly sealed in verity, a.k.a. seen clearly and visibly in shining fullness.

Biblical apocalypticism (in a nutshell, revelation) might come off as a terrifyingly mind-confounding realm even for many devoutly pious Christians to approach, but it is an inescapably necessary fabric of the lived-and-breathed walk of the covenantal walk to live in the veritably sealed knowledge of. Yes, it is true: most ecstatically motivated “religious prophecy” narratives rampant in the world out there are diversionary and serpentine psyops rooted in malicious deception motives, and unidirectionally lopsided zeal for prophetic knowledge—no matter how sincere it starts off—can easily be subject to co-optation, inflection, and ultimate misdirection toward fanatical cults defined by delusions of grandeur sliding down a slippery slope into ugly human-life-devaluing ideologies. The grim details (“Zion”-ism [cough cough]) need not extensively further elaboration here since I already wrote about them enough elsewhere on this publication.

At least from the humble perspective of this author—I E.G.—a point I would like to address in this introductory commencement from personally accumulated observations is that people often tend to assume the most apocalyptically sublime, vivid, and mysteriously jarring portions of “late-dated” prophecy (since biblical apocalypticism cemented toward the late Old Testament era into the early 1st-century years of apostolic Christian fructification) as conveying more unique and precedent-lacking “new” information than they really do. In reality, biblical apocalypticism—as part and parcel of the late Hebrew Bible writings—simply reinforces the exact same underlying message of salvation conveyed from primordial generations, just in a different “format.” After all, “apokalupsis” as rendered in the Koine Greek is inextricably intertwined in meaning with the Biblical Hebrew root גְּלָה (gālâ) that means “to revelate,” usually in the direct physical sense of denude, be naked, make bare.”

The prophet Malachi relayed this message from Jehovah, the God of the universe: “Eallswa I Jᴇʜᴏᴠᴀʜ not replicated I, and yourselves [the] erectors [of] Jacob not finished yourselves.”1 Just as Jehovah was, so Jehovah is and Jehovah shall be, now and unto everlasting and onpassage verily—the full demonstration of this (inter alia) is wholly impossible to internalize in one sitting (unless you wish to faint from mentally exhausted implosion vainly attempting to), so it behooves a diligent student to be patient and study piece by piece. The lesson of this sabbath day will be Daniel 8, particularly spotlighting its remarkable mirrors of Outcarvation Week—do pay close attention and internalize if you will! Let us hence press onward.

(if I made any errors in the translation or reductionist flaws in my exposited verse demarcation structure, anyone is welcome in good faith to correct me in the comment section as comprehensively as necessary to inform me of my errings)

In replicage triadic toward [the] regency [of] Belshazzar the regent, [a] vision appeared he unto me—I Daniel—after the appeared-he unto me in [the] commencement, and I peered in [the] vision.

So first off, a few notes on my translation word choices:

  • because the word שָׁנָה (šānâ)—commonly translated as and by implication meaning “year”—is derived from the root verb שָׁנָה (šānâ) that means “replicate,” a literal translation would be something along the lines of “replicated-cycle” or “replicage,” signifying that a year is a cycle that structurally repeats according to its unfolding in the previous year

  • the cardinal numeral corresponding to “three” in the ancient Semitic Hebraic understanding apparently wasn’t a one-dimensional concept of three as an amount and that being the sum of the matter, but rather as a triadic set

  • “regency” here is used instead of “kingdom” for מַלְכוּת (mal’khût), and “regent” accordingly instead of “king” for מֶּלֶךְ (Melekh’), to reflect the root verb מָלַךְ (mālaḵ) that is evidently best translated into English as “reign”

For contextual clarity: when the prophet Daniel said “in [the] commencement,” what he was referring to was the vision that appeared unto him in the first year of Belshazzar’s reign, as recorded in the previous chapter (Daniel 7). The pertinent relevance of this for doctrinally conclusive vitality pertains to another matter not necessary to dissect into just here and now, because this plate will already be full enough.

וַיְהִי בִּרְאֹתִי וַאֲנִי בְּשׁוּשַׁן הַבִּירָה אֲשֶׁר בְּעֵילָם הַמְּדִינָה וָאֶרְאֶה בֶּחָזוֹן וַאֲנִי הָיִיתִי עַל־אוּבַל אוּלָי (way'hiy Bir'otiy waániy B'shûshan haBiyräh ásher B'ëyläm haM'diynäh er'eh Bechäzôn waániy häyiytiy al-ûval ûläy)

  • חָזוֹן (chäzôn: 2377): vision [noun: common masculine singular absolute]

  • אוּלָ (ûlä: 195): Leaders [noun: proper title]
    [of] {implied preposition}

  • י (y): Mine [pronominal suffix: 1st-person common singular]

And existified he in [the] peering [of] mine, and I [was] in Susa the fortress, which [is] in Elam the regularity, and I peered in [the] vision, and I existified I upon [the] flowage [of] [the] Leaders [of] Mine.

Again, brief notes on translation word choice:

  • the translation here of מְּדִינָה (M’diynäh) as “regularity” (rather than “province”) reflects the root verb דִּין (dîn) as meaning “regulate,” and therefore a region under the jurisdiction of authoritative regulation can be termed a “regularity”

  • “flowage” here by implication means a stream/river

  • Ulai” as a name is here parsed and translated according to the meaning of the term rather than used as a loose transliteration—from the standpoint that the suffixed yod in אוּלָי (ûläy) represents the 1st-person common singular pronominal suffix, the meaning of the name would be “[the] Leaders/Mighties [of] Mine”

So in the prophet’s visiating, he found himself in vision at Elam—this does not automatically mean that he literally was physically in Elam (since Daniel was at the time probably in the midst of carrying out the business of King Belshazzar within Babylon), rather that within the context of the vision he underwent, he was in Elam within the vision setting.

  • קְרָנָיִם (q’ränäyim: 7161): horns [noun: common feminine dual absolute]

And I uplifted [the] eyes [of] mine, and I peered, and behold! [a] ram [of] unific [was] standing toward [the] face [of] the flowage, and toward him [were] horns.

Terminology clarification:

  • “unific” here is the translation for the word commonly rendered as the cardinal numeral “one”—literally it as an adjective means something that is “unified,” ostensibly derived from the root verb אָחַד ('āḥaḏ) that means “unify”

  • while the translation of קְרָנָיִם (q’ränäyim) here is just “horns,” the number of the noun is not a simple plural but rather dual, a.k.a. by implication it means specifically two horns

There is a larger antitypical relevance to the nature of the prophetic symbol of a two-horned ram as I explained in my sabbath study earlier this month exposing the Great Satan—you didn’t miss out on this mandatory reading assignment, did you?

וְהַקְּרָנַיִם גְּבֹהוֹת וְהָאַחַת גְּבֹהָה מִן־הַשֵּׁנִית וְהַגְּבֹהָה עֹלָה בָּאַחֲרֹנָה (w'haQ'ränayim G'vohôt w'achat G'vohäh min-haSHëniyt w'haG'vohäh oläh acháronäh)

  • וְ (w’: 9007): and [prefixed conjunction]

  • הַ (ha: 9005): the [prefixed definite article]

  • קְּרָנַיִם (Q’ränayim: 7161): horns [noun: common feminine dual absolute]
    [were] {implied verb}

  • גְּבֹהוֹת (G’vohôt: 1364): altificents [adjective: feminine plural absolute]

  • וְ (w’: 9007): and [prefixed conjunction]

  • הָ (: 9005): the [prefixed definite article]

  • אַחַת (achat: 259): unific [adjective: cardinal numeral, feminine singular absolute]
    [was] {implied verb}

  • גְּבֹהָה (G’vohäh: 1364): altificent [adjective: feminine singular absolute]

  • מִן (min: 4480): from [preposition]

  • הַ (ha: 9005): the [prefixed definite article]

  • שֵּׁנִית (SHëniyt: 8145): replicatic [adjective: ordinal numeral, feminine singular absolute]

  • וְ (w’: 9007): and [prefixed conjunction]

  • הַ (ha: 9005): the [prefixed definite article]

  • גְּבֹהָה (G’vohäh: 1364): altificent [adjective: feminine singular absolute]
    [was] {implied verb}

  • עֹלָה (oläh: 5927, z8802): ascending [verb: Qal, participle active, feminine singular absolute]

  • בָּ (: 9004): in [prefixed inseparable preposition]
    [the] {implied definite article}

  • אַחֲרֹנָה (acháronäh: 314): subsequent [adjective: feminine singular absolute]

And the horns [were] altificents, and the unific [was] altificent from the replicatic, and the altificent [was] ascending in [the] subsequent.

If you recall the earlier notes about the translations of “unific” and “replicage,” then hopefully it is not too difficult to distinguish the implication of this visionary description showing the two horns of the ram, that one was higher from the second. My translation of the גְּבֹהָה (G’vohäh) as a custom Latin-conjugated word “altificent” rather than the standard “high” is of course to signify more emphatically its connotation with altitude.

Right here, there is a nice mirror of a theme found in Genesis—let’s take a look!

And made He God selfsame replicatics [of] the luminaries [of] the magnificents, selfsame the luminary [of] the magnificent toward [the] dominion [of] the day, and selfsame the luminary [of] the parvulicent toward [the] dominion [of] the night, and selfsame the stars…

Notice a complimentary parallelism?

  • “horns” (dual, a.k.a. meaning “two horns”) ↔ “replicatics of the luminaries” (two luminaries): two splendorous objects described

  • “altificent(s)” (high) ↔ “magnificent(s)” (great): depiction of enamoring stature

  • …the one [was] high from the second…” ↔ “…selfsame the luminary of the great… and selfsame the luminary of the small…”: one of the two boast a stature indisputably exalted past and beyond the other one

I—E.G.—posit this as the likely explanation: the logical connection here would simply be that Media as the lower of the two horns on the ram corresponds to the moon as the luminary dominating the night, and Persia as the greater corresponds to the sun dominating the day, and that Persia coming up second/last is a reflection of how in the original reckoning of the daily cycle, each day begins starts at sunset a.k.a. the first half of the day is the nighttime and the second half—wherein the greater luminary shines—is the daytime. Just as from Outcarvation Week it is clear that the greater luminary (the sun) ascends second and after the lesser one (the moon), so too it is reflected in the earthly mirror that the horn which was higher ascended after its shorter counterpart. This fits into a more emphatically overt throwback to the evening-morning theme clarified later in this post—if you already made it this far, please do continue reading!

For directional clarification:

  • “sea” = west

  • “concealage” (a.k.a. “darkly hidden”) = north

  • “drought” = south (as in the deserts of Negeb, per the Biblical Hebrew nomenclature itself)

And so, herein is portrayed the ram (Medo-Persia) as an empire (situated in the east) fighting its neighbors in the other three directions, wherein other regencies find no hope of deliverance in the face of Persian attacks and magnification.

On a fun little side note, for the few who may appreciate it: if cross-translated as conservatively as possible, I believe the Hebraic root of the verb מְנַגֵּחַ (m’naGëªch)—נָגַח (nāḡaḥ)—would in Arabic correspond to the very root from which is derived the name “Saddam” which as a proper noun means “the collider/one who collides.” (“sorry” to Iran, but it turns out that they were at one point the prototypical embodiment of what millennia later manifested as the Iraqi Ba’ath Party lol)

And made he as [the] delectation [of] his, and enmagnified he.

Relatively straightforward—for brief clarity here, the prefix conjugation “en-” in the English translation is used by me E.G. consistently as the Hiphil causative stem in the Biblical Hebrew, a.k.a. “enmagnified he” means “he caused to magnify.”

And I existified I enintellifying, and behold! [a] prancing-creature [of] the strong-creatures [was] incoming from the farsetplace upon [the] face [of] [the] totality [of] the land, and nothing [was] touching in [the] land.

Note right here that practically NONE of the standard English translations ever render the full substantive words from the original Hebraic text properly as they are supposed to—the phrase צְפִיר־הָעִזִּים (tz'fiyr-iZiym) is not simply just “[a] he-goat,” but rather “[a] he-goat [of] the she-goats.” Literally, the male billy goat means “prancing-creature” in the Semitic Hebrew understanding, while its counterpart nanny goat means “strong-creature.”

“Farsetplace” of course means the place where the sun sets far away out of view, a.k.a. by implication the west.

Notice the same phrase is used as in the earlier verse (8:5) describing how no living-creature previously could stand toward the face of the ram himself: לְפָנָיו (l’fänäyw), literally “toward [the] face [of] his.” To the degree that other kingdoms hitherto could not stand before the ram, now the ram himself cannot stand before the he-goat—“all who take the sword, by sword shall perish.”3

Earthly empires arrive—alas!—to an eventual end for one reason or another, whether toward good or toward broken. There exists yet additional demonstrative evidence that the ram ultimately suffered the very form of fate it inflicted on other kingdoms: the specific word מַצִּיל (maTZiyl) translated here as “enoutpulling”—Hiphil stem, participle active mood, masculine singular absolute—is repeated from v. 8:5, as is the phrase מִיָּד (miYädô), “from [the] hand [of] his.”

Herein is another reflection of Outcarvation Week from Genesis, although the exact interpretation of the explanation is less certain from me (E.G.), as of typing. Compare to this passage from Gen. 2:

וְנָהָר יֹצֵא מֵעֵדֶן לְהַשְׁקוֹת אֶת־הַגָּן מִשָּׁם יִפָּרֵד וְהָיָה לְאַרְבָּעָה רָאשִׁים (w'nähär yotzë ëden l'hash'qôt et-haGän ûmiSHäm yiPärëd w'häyäh l'ar'Bääh räshiym)4

And [a] sparklage outwent he from Pleasure toward endrinking selfsame the hedge, and from there apparticiated he, and existified he toward quadratic primordiages.

Observe this structural akinness:

  • the billy-goat’s originally single magnificent horn ↔ Eden’s single river

  • division of the magnificent horn into four horns ↔ partition of Eden’s river into four heads of rivers

I would like to point out that myself—E.G.—at this very moment am not going to determine the finer details, as of typing. I am simply showing what appears to be a non-coincidentally notable likeness of pattern, because presently I do not (yet) comprehend what the in-depth details are.

And from the unific from himselves, outwent he [a] horn [of] unific from diminuitudeness, and magnified she overleftage unto the drought, and unto the irradiation-abode, and unto the turgidence.

So out of one of those four horns, yet another horn grows from out of that horn out of a stature of minuscule smallness, and “she” (symbolic language here, because it’s in the context of visionary prophetic symbols—the horn as a symbol represents a regent a.k.a. king regarded literally and substantively in the masculine gender) expanded (a.k.a. in empirical conquest) toward:

  • “the drought” = south, as explained above

  • “the irradiation-abode” = the place where the sun radiates from, hence east

  • “the turgidence” = Judea a.k.a. what is known geographically more broadly at-large as Palestine—צֶּבִי (TZeviy) is derived from the root verb צָבָה (ṣāḇâ) which means “to swell up” a.k.a. “be turgid,” and for whatever reason by implication the noun form means “roebuck”/“gazelle” and associated with the descriptions of “pleasant,” “beauteous,” “splendorous,” “glorious” et al., in turn a symbol for the abode of Jehovah’s covenant people in the geographically literal type

And magnified she ontopass [the] exarcant [of] the heavens, and endownfell she land onto from the exarcant and from the stars, and downstamped she himselves.

Alright, this is a boondoggle to address right here. So there is the vividly terrifying scene conveyed of a certain offshoot regent who aggressively wars against God’s covenant people, even to the point of reaching the host of the heavens and causing them to fall to the land to stamp down upon them.

First off, this is not to be taken literally—remember, the description here is prophetically symbolic. The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ said this:5

Treasure not up to yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust disfigure, and where thieves break through and steal, but treasure up to yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth disfigure, and where thieves do not break through nor steal, for where your treasure is, there will be also your heart.

In other words, the exarcant of the heavens as stated in Daniel 8 is not the literal host of heaven, but rather the host of God’s people at the time in Judea (in the 2nd century B.C., during the regency of Antiochus IV, who was the offshoot horn “from diminuitudeness” spoken of here) whose hearts abided in the heavenly Zion.

While obviously not literally the same, there is nonetheless a reflection of Genesis—remember the explanation for v. 8:4 wherein the parallel Genesis passage mentions how God created the stars? (for context: stars in prophetic symbolism represent angels a.k.a. messengers6) There is also this:

וַיְכֻלּוּ הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהָאָרֶץ וְכָל־צְבָאָם (way'khuLû haSHämayim w'äretz w'khäl-tz'vääm)7

  • וַ (wa: 9007): and [prefixed conjunction]

  • יְכֻלּוּ (y’khuLû: 3615, z8792): abbefinished himselves [verb: Pual, imperfect, 3rd-person masculine plural] {conjunctive-sequential implication}

  • הַ (ha: 9005): the [prefixed definite article]

  • שָּׁמַיִם (SHämayim: 8064): heavens [noun: common masculine plural absolute]

  • וְ (w’: 9007): and [prefixed conjunction]

  • הָ (: 9005): the [prefixed definite article]

  • אָרֶץ (äretz: 776): land [noun: common feminine singular absolute]

    [of] {implied preposition}

  • ם (m): himselves [pronominal suffix: 3rd-person masculine plural]

And abbefinished himselves the heavens and the land, and [the] totality [of] [the] host [of] himselves…

While the exact inflected variants differ, there is a common reference to a host associated with the heavens, where the land is also likewise mentioned. Just as there is a host of Jehovah’s in the literal heavens above, there is also a spiritual host of Jehovah’s on earth that is found among the people whose hearts are in the heavenly New Jerusalem that is above.

On a side note about my translation choice, for those who may wonder: the reason why I translate צָּבָא (TZävä) as “exarcant” is to better emphatically convey the idea of a host as an army of well-trained and exercised members, as it is derived from the Latin word exercitus which in its concrete definition hopefully reflects the meaning of the corresponding Biblical Hebrew more substantively.

And ontopass [the] prince [of] the exarcant enmagnified he, and from us was enexalted he [times] aeenexalted he the continuity, and aeendowncasted he [the] establishment [of] [the] sanctuary [of] his.

You understand perfectly what this means, right? /s I must admit that I myself—E.G.—simply try to translate as conservative and literal as I can, and as a result sometimes I am confounded in mentally lost confusion as to why certain inflected words carry the ultimate end meaning implications that they do. For whatever reason, the causative Hiphil form of the verb “exalt” (in its Qal “root”) and its passive Hophal mirror (which means “to be caused to be exalted”) by implication—at least in this local context—means essentially “to be taken off, lifted off, removed.”

The continuity referenced here is of course the daily sacrifice—in the ancient Hebraic earthly type, two burnt offerings were offered daily on the altar, one in the evening and the other in the morning:8

And this [is] that which thou dost prepare on the altar; two lambs, sons of a year, daily continually; the one lamb thou dost prepare in the morning, and the second lamb thou dost prepare between the evenings;

Alas, the KJV and a number of other translations reductionally translate תָּמִיד (Tämiyd) when the word literally at its core is tied to the concept of continuation, not specifically tied to a day-by-day basis of unit measurement but simply as continuity. This reductionist rendition appears to be the root cause for offshoot misinterpretations of Daniel 8 as a whole, since “daily” becomes misconstrued in conjunction with the meaning of the 2,300 as specified later this chapter. (hint: by some special Laodicean kooks who haven’t learned their lessons since 1844)

And [an] exarcant aggave she upon the continuity in excadation, and endowncasted she verity land onto.

The word פָשַׁע (fäsha) is usually translated as “transgression” or “rebellion,” but that is an inaccurate treatment of what the original Biblical Hebrew term means, because it is derived from the verbal root פָּשַׁע (pāšaʿ) which means, “to fall away, break away [from God’s authority].” Therefore, the noun means the act of falling away, which is not the plain meaning of “transgression” nor “rebellion”: transgressing means exceeding a boundary, and rebelling means fighting back/warring back against. Sure, I could just apply the Germanic word-merging inflection method and coin a word i.e. “awayfallage,” but this is a technically rigid designation and does not befit a poetic connotation, so French/Latin inflection is preferable here IMO—the Latin term excado means “to fall out,” and so the verbal form can be conjugated to “excadate” for an English translation of the Biblical Hebrew verb, and its counterpart noun therefore rendered as “excadation”: the act of falling away/falling out from obedience to God.

Literally, a host was given unto the offshoot horn (Antiochus Epiphanes) upon the continual sacrifice, the reason for it being because of excadation (falling away), that of God’s covenant people in Judea. As the harrowingly consequential result, Jehovah handed over Judea in its wayward apostatizing trajectory to the consequences of their own syncretic inclinations for cleaving with Seleucidae, permitting Antiochus’s genocidal onslaught of barbarism for a certain time period against Judea, wherein truth was spat upon and thrown down to be stamped upon.

You read this far? I’ll save you the trouble and just straight-up give you a simplified rendition of the essential implied meaning (typing out detailed word-parsing explanations is a bit time-consuming on my part anyways, and it just makes the article presumably all the more overwhelming to read through, I imagine): “And said he one sanctified [individual] toward [the] so-and-so [of] the speaking, ‘Even unto the point of when [is] the vision [of] the continuity and the falling-away [of] astonishment giving also sanctity and [a] host [to suffer] being-trampled-down?’

In a nutshell, “how long will persist the desecration of God’s sanctuary and the mass slaughter of the covenant people residing in Judea—to the point of when?

And said he unto me, ‘Ontopass [the] farsetage–forthopenage [of] cognifying-creatures and triadic hundreds, and arrectified he sanctitude.’

By implication, “And he said unto me, ‘Even to the point of evening-morning [of] two thousands and three hundreds, and was rectified he sanctitude.’

Yes, you read that right: the ox (literally, “cognifying-creature”) is tautological in the Biblical Hebrew covenantal language with the number 1,000. As for exactly why, I don’t quite grasp this, as of typing, just that this is apparently what the text literally means at its emphatically bare and revelated substance.

“Farsetage” of course means the setting far of the sun (hence evening), and “forthopenage” therefore the opening forth of the sun (hence morning), and so the time prophecy is given: 2,300 evenings and mornings of desecration before sanctitude would be rectified, a.k.a. made straight.

In other words, 2,300 continual sacrifices were deprived from being carried out in that time frame, hence 1,150 days, because each day consisted of two sacrifices, one in the evening and the other in the morning.

And right here is as substantively patent of a reflection of Genesis 1-2 as it can get—the words עֶרֶב (erev) and בֹּקֶר (Boqer) are each used (the latter spelled/pronounced differently in Genesis 1 than in Daniel 8, though the same word) six times in the concluding overviews of each of the first six days of Outcarvation Week:

  1. וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם אֶחָד (way'hiy-erev way'hiy-voqer yôm echäd): “And existified he [a] farsetage, and existified he [a] forthopenage: day unific.”9

  2. וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם שֵׁנִי (way'hiy-erev way'hiy-voqer yôm shëniy): “And existified he [a] farsetage, and existified he [a] forthopenage: day replicatic.”10

  3. וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם שְׁלִישִׁי (way'hiy-erev way'hiy-voqer yôm sh'liyshiy): “And existified he [a] farsetage, and existified he [a] forthopenage: day tertiaric.”11

  4. וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם רְבִיעִי (way'hiy-erev way'hiy-voqer yôm r'viyiy): “And existified he [a] farsetage, and existified he [a] forthopenage: day quartic.”12

  5. וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם חֲמִישִׁי (way'hiy-erev way'hiy-voqer yôm chámiyshiy): “And existified he [a] farsetage, and existified he [a] forthopenage: day quintic.”13

  6. וַיְהִי־עֶרֶב וַיְהִי־בֹקֶר יוֹם הַשִּׁשִּׁי (way'hiy-erev way'hiy-voqer yôm haSHiSHiy): “And existified he [a] farsetage, and existified he [a] forthopenage: day [of] the sextic.”14

Undoubtedly this is no coincidence, for the message of Jehovah’s ways of rectitude emanating from His sanctuary are behooved to be communicated and manifested in continuity, persisting every single day in both nighttime and daytime, defined by the cycles of sunset and sunrise affixing the continuation of day.

Are you among the 1-2 people (at most? I’d personally wager a conservative estimate it’s on the lower end between 0-1 people, though Jehovah knows if at least maybe one person might actually read all of it) who read this far? Congratulations! This is only the first half of the chapter, because next up is the pericope comprising the angelic interpretation of the vision. (if you think reading this takes forever, bear in mind how much longer it takes me on this sabbath day to type all this out as I’m staying up all night to complete this before only then hitting the sack for physical rest)

Oh, and this is just one chapter of a book out of 49 books of the Bible—there’s about a cognifying-creature- er I mean ox- [ahem] “sorry” [cough cough] I mean thousand more chapters in the scriptural text across both testaments to understand. Make of that what you will, at least if you haven’t yet fainted from knowledge intake overdose.

The vision was thus complete and existed, having passed and now gone. We are on to the second out of the two pericopes of Daniel 8, finished with the A branch of the at-large chiasm and moving on to the B branch. After the prophet Daniel beheld the Ram-Goat Vision, what was conspicuious before him was that which appeared to be a mighty being—in this case an angel from heaven.

And said he unto me, ‘Enintellify you, erector [of] red-creature, eallswa toward [the] onpassagess [of] amputation [is] the vision.’

Fine, maybe I need to actually supply some commentary notes here instead of instantly jumping ahead, since mere Bastardized English™ 21st-century barebones pseudoproficiency presumably won’t carry the average English-speaker to understand what that sentence means in substantive fullness.

In a nutshell: “And he said unto me, ‘Cause yourself to distinguish, son of man, because toward [the] time [of] end [is] the vision.

If you’re wondering why I translated the text in such an atavistic way, here is a nice and brief summary for the meanwhile:

  • enintellify”: the root בִּין (bîn) in its Qal stem means “to distinguish between,” rendered by me as “intellify,” and so the Hiphil-stemmed “enintellify” by implication means “cause to distinguish between”

  • erector”: the masculine noun בֵּן (bēn)—translated commonly as “son”—is derived from the verbal root בָּנָה (bānâ) which means “to build, to erect,” and accordingly the masculine noun does not simply mean “son” as in simply a male child, but in the emphatic sense—per Strong’s—“as a builder of the family name

  • red-creature”: cf. this

  • eallswa”: loanword from Old English that functions far better as a versatile conjunction—as an English translation of the Biblical Hebrew word כִּי ()—than a word like “for” or “because”

  • onpassagess”: the noun עֵת (ʿēṯ) appears to be the feminine counterpart of the masculine עַד (ʿaḏ), which means “onpassage” by reason that it is derived from the verbal root עָדָה (ʿāḏâ) which means “pass on” a.k.a. “onpass”—hence, I apply an -ess suffix conjugation to denote femininity, just as “princess” is the feminine counterpart to “prince,” “actress” to “actor,” “lioness” to “lion” et al.—by implication, “onpassagess” means time, a.k.a. the very time that passes on

  • amputation”: the masculine noun קֵץ (qēṣ) is derived from the verbal root קָצַץ (qāṣaṣ) which means “to amputate” a.k.a. “cut off,” and so the noun form by implication means “end, extremity, termination,” a.k.a. the severing off of a matter/thing whose purpose is completed

  • הוּא (: 1931): he [personal pronoun: 3rd-person masculine singular]

And [the] appearance [of] the farsetage and the forthopenage—which assaid he—verity [is] he.

Note that verity (a.k.a. truth)—אֱמֶת (émet)—is exactly that which was casted down by the offshoot horn (Antiochus IV), cf. v. 8:16: “and endowncasted she verity land onto.”

The text also says above that this particular regent understands “enigmas,” a.k.a. riddles, dark thoughts/arts, manipulation schemes et al. Evidently, in light of this prophecy’s revelation well centuries before its manifested fulfillment, the verity of the evening-morning prophecy was made known, and one can perhaps plausibly surmise that Antiochus IV was aware of it, and hence he scrambled on a destruction rampage in what on his end served as a self-fulfilling prophecy.

In a nutshell: the offshoot horn Antiochus IV must have despised the Danielic prophecy of the 2,300 evening-mornings that foretold the ultimate rectification of the continual sacrifice.

וַאֲנִי דָנִיֵּאל נִהְיֵיתִי וְנֶחֱלֵיתִי יָמִים (waániy däniYël nih'yëytiy w'nechélëytiy yämiym)

  • וַ (wa: 9007): and [prefixed conjunction]

  • נֶחֱלֵיתִי (nechélëytiy: 2470, z8738): assmoothened I [verb: Niphal, perfect, 1st-person common singular]

  • יָמִים (yämiym: 3117): days [noun: common masculine plural absolute]

And I Daniel aeexistified I, and assmoothened I days.

The Niphal stem of the verb הָיָה (hāyâ)—“existify” (as in Qal)—does not appear commonly to nearly the same frequency as the “orthodox” Qal active stem, and the actual meaning evidently poses some trickness to grasp, because here means to be exhausted, worn out, overcome et al. So to be existified—at least here in its usage as the perfect mood denoting a completed action—evidently means to be “completed” and brought about to pass, so much so that it is tantamount to the point of being exhausted of one’s mortal human energy that is completely drained out.

Similarly, the Niphal stem of the verb חָלָה (ḥālâ)—“smoothen” (as in Qal)—is a bit tricky to grasp in its full substantive depth here, because by implication it here means “sick” and “lay ill.” Hence, for a person to be smoothened/polished means to end up lying sick in an illness temporally incapacitating their physical strength.

In any case, it’s very clear that all that subliminally vivid information was so overwhelming and terrifying that the prophet was reduced into a condition of dilapidation at its finest. Being a prophet is not easy.

וָאֶשְׁתּוֹמֵם עַל־הַמַּרְאֶה וְאֵין מֵבִין (esh'Tômëm al-haMar'eh w'ëyn mëviyn)

  • וְ (w’: 9007): and [prefixed conjunction]

  • אֵין (ëyn: 369): nothing [negative particle]
    [is] {implied verb}

  • מֵבִין (mëviyn: 995, z8688): enintellifying [verb: Hiphil, participle active, masculine singular absolute]

And I selfstupefied upon the appearance, and nothing [is] enintellifying.

That is the conclusion of the chapter: the prophet Daniel remained in a state of bewildered and confounded non-understanding in the face of a prophecy so vividly stark in harrowingly terrifying and frightening implication that all he can do is live in the admission of his stunned incoherent fog as no mortal entity on earth could help him to distinguish between the matter.

(this took “forever” to write 😭)

Growing and maturing in the knowledge of Jehovah’s verity is not easy and painless, but is necessary if one wishes to be sanctified unto a perfected rectitude not of this world toward the entering in unto an everlasting regency—the New Jerusalem, the true Zion—not of this world.

A faithful adherent of Jehovah might not just yet—that quickly—come to an understanding of difficult prophetic words, but that which is behooved to be done must carry on: the evening and morning sacrifices must continue in continually offered faithfulness, understood in antitype as the apostle Paul exhorted:

Through him, then, we may offer up a sacrifice of praise always to God, that is, the fruit of lips, giving thanks to His name; and of doing good, and of fellowship, be not forgetful, for with such sacrifices God is well-pleased. —Hebrews 13:15-16

The continuity ordained by יְהוָה צִדְקֵנוּ (y'hwäh tzid'që)—Jᴇʜᴏᴠᴀʜ [ᴛʜᴇ] Rᴇᴄᴛɪᴛᴜᴅᴇ [ᴏғ] Oᴜʀs—must be carried on by those of us who are His faithful human servants and messengers, that not the wills of our mortal human passions be done, but rather His will be done now and unto everlasting and onpassage verily!
