‘Gorgeous gardens are only for people who have loads of time’ is a crock of shit.

Society feeds us the narrative that gardening is only for retired people who have loads of time. You only have to order some gardening equipment from the internet before you’re bombarded with catalogues aimed at retirees, reconfirming who the gardening industry thinks its target market is 👀

Only a couple of generations ago, gardening was almost exclusively the domain of old white men 👴🏻👴🏻👴🏻 They recognised that time spent in nature was healing, that tending their flowers and veg was the ideal way to lower their stress levels. And so they decided to gatekeep it for themselves by perpetuating the myth that you need loads of time in order to have a gorgeous garden.

When you take action in your garden for 20 minutes a day, your garden becomes a haven. You have an outlet for the intense pressure you’re under right now juggling all the things and you feel lighter, calmer and less like you’re about to crack under the weight of everything.

Before I started gardening daily in 20 minute pockets of time, I was burnt out, overwhelmed and feeling utterly desperate and alone PLUS my garden looked like this:

Once I took daily action following a step by step action plan designed to move my garden forward and give my mind a break. I felt free, joyful and strong and my garden looked like this:

Given that we’ll be lucky to retire before we’re 80 in the UK at the current rate, I don’t want to wait until retirement before I allow myself time to access nature’s healing benefits in my garden and I don’t want you to have to wait either.

The Myth

Gorgeous gardens are only for people who have loads of time

The Truth

Gorgeous gardens can be created in 20 minutes a day around work, caring responsibilities and all of the other things on your to-do list.

All of my spaces are designed to show you how. Hit reply or comment below and let’s work out which one is best for you and where you’re at.
