The mistake is see people making most often when it comes to creating their gardens is planting plants too close together.
I know it’s because they want to create a full looking border like they see on the TV. But the gardens on TV have often been established for many years (Monty, I’m looking at you) or they have TV budgets to be able to buy in fully grown plants that you don’t find at your local garden centre (Alan and Co i’m looking at you).
When you plant your plants too close together in the border they don’t have the space they need to establish a strong root system and so they struggle to grow and can even die.
A far better technique is what i’m going to share with you today. It’s really simple but hugely underutilised.
