The UK, and pretty much all of Europe has spent the past week melting.
Vans parked. Camp chairs unfolded. BBQs lit.
Which got me thinking... where are all the burnt sausages?
I don't think anything brings people together quite like collectively complaining about the weather. Especially if you're British.
Having spent months living out of a van through summers in Spain and Portugal, I can confirm there really isn't anywhere to hide. It makes me laugh... and cry a little at the same time.
This year I realised that I need to see something different.
Social media convinced us that taking a skinny dip in an alpine lake is where we have to be. Or, maybe it’s resting your surfboard against the van somewhere on the Portuguese coast.
But the reality is that most of us are trying to find some shade in the back garden. So, if you find yourself adventuring nowhere, my invitation for you is to go light that BBQ, throw on some meat, and upload a picture of your burnt saussages today.
Because that too, is worth celebrating.
