Noah Kumin is a writer, editor, and the founder of the Mars Review of Books, the New York literary magazine that Politico credits with taking on the establishment and that one blogger memorably called the literary organ of Dimes Square. Since launching in 2022, the MRB has published writers like Tao Lin and Sean Thor Conroe while holding onto its scrappiness and its commitment to elegant long-form criticism. He is also the CEO of The Aleph, an invite-only network connecting independent creators with producers and funding.
The foundation is deeply literary. Kumin studied Slavic languages and literatures at the University of Chicago, earned his MFA in fiction at NYU, and spent over three years at the fiercely independent Seven Stories Press. His novel, Stop All the Clocks, was published by Arcade in 2025, with a nonfiction book, The Mystagogues, forthcoming from the same house.
