ADAGE

Be the Lion

RESPONSE

There comes a time in the life of all start-ups, and small to medium-sized enterprises that requires the founder to act courageously and decisively. Many times this involves sacrificing a few to save the many. If you're concerned about damaging your credit score, D&B rating, or hurting somebody's feelings, then you will not succeed. Rarely is there a risk-free move. If you don't make the moves, then you will lose your business to somebody else who has the courage to act. Jesus left the ninety-nine to save the one stray. David bent down and picked up five smooth stones. Noah built the ark. Rahab assisted the Israelites. Faith and courage are two sides of the same coin. If you're a closet Christian running a secular enterprise, one of the more courageous things you'll do is convert your secular business into an enterprise platform to execute the Great Commission. While not permission to be thoughtless, courage is required for taking action when we know what we must do but are unsure of the result. No call to business ever occurred without fear of failure. Take courage in God's call, and then work hard.

SCRIPTURE

Joshua 1:9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
