the week recap! week of: 2/17/26 - 2/23/26
⛅️ something to celebrate: come visit the art museum of childlike faith & wonder & leave knowing you are a painting! recently, on Pinterest, I have been getting a few pins of little girls recreating the poses of paintings/sculptures in museums. from leaping in the air to ballet positions, (assumedly birthed from initially oohing & ahhing at the wonderful pieces) - these little girl’s are pictured mirroring the same beauty found in the art in real life through their actions, their joy. this is what we should aspire to do with our Jesus: mirror the beauty found in Him & in what He did on the cross for us. our gratitude & journey to be more like Him did not stop at salvation! that is when it merely begun.
each time I come across these cute pictures (such as the one below), it makes me stop for a second & ponder at how they relate so simply to our time spent in the secret place, our crying out to Jesus to make us more like Him, & how prayer not only is us reaching towards Heaven, but also transforms us into being the answer to our requests more times than not. this is what God has been teaching me!!! He has been leading me to prayer because He deserves to be talked to & He deserved our willingness to help Him bring Heaven down to Earth. the first step in this is asking Him to take away anything in our lives that does not glorify Him, & instead replace it with Himself.
we are just God’s little children, wandering around the art museum of His love for us, eager to recreate the poses of His character displayed in the frames on the walls in our heart. He is a grand painter! & we too are His grand works of art! with childlike faith, may we seize the image He painted us to be with all that we’ve got to surrender.
surrender, surrender, surrender. the Spirit knocks at our hearts to turn off our brains!
if we think too much about what other people think of us - like how we are hesitant to dance for the Lord in worship because we are embarrassed - if we do not renounce a spirit of self-loathing or of pride, & if we do not make peace with the fact that we will never understand an infinite God in a finite body, we will find ourselves stuck in the art museum of God’s love without oohing + ahhing at the glorious sculptures of His faithfulness & majesty, but instead we will analyze with doubt, with a hardened heart to change to become more like Jesus. childlike faith brings a lightness in walking in freedom! childlike faith allows us to be still in the presence of the Lord, & believe that He will make straight your paths because He said so. it is to believe you are being molded more in the image of Jesus Christ day to day & that the Holy Spirit will continuously place dreams/burdens on your heart to chase after like you used to race to become the fastest kid at the playground.
Jesus deserves oohing + ahhing at!
& this is brought upon in the secret place - where you are to admire Him for all He has done for you in secret, with a closed door, so that relationship with Him is continuously being fostered. sweet friend, ask the Lord right now in your heart about what your quiet time is supposed to be looking like to properly give glory to Him. He wants you to be still with Him! the secret place is important to sustain our childlike faith & turn off our brains so that we may be in tune with the Spirit of the Living God!!!!! our heart’s true desire.
“above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” - Proverbs 4:23 (niv)
the Lord taught me this week to be expectant for Him to move in unexpected places & in places where it may be uncomfortable to let the Lord in. if we do not surrender to Him our all, we are not truly asking more of Him! because of who He says He is, we are to steward our time & gifts well for His glory.
there was a song sung at a church event that said: I am who I am because the I AM tells me who I am!!!!!! & I definitely sobbed when I heart that.
I pray that you are ever so encouraged to embrace your childlike faith today &, like the little girls who recreated the paintings, recreate your Father’s love by overflowing onto others & asking Jesus to make you more like Him day by day.
⛅️ something out of my comfort zone: a sweet Sunday message & a call out from Christ! btw, you are the Lord, the King of kings, divine placement on this Earth. & each season He has you in, each room you walk into, each person you encounter ties into your Kingdom purpose! the lesson at church on sunday was all about authority, & how no matter the conditions here on Earth, our Savior still reigns & is in complete control. you can take a deep breath now! you do not have to strive! your purpose is being weaved together, you must just be still.
I was really encouraged by this message seeing as my faith coming up this point was going through a really hard time, a testing trial if you will, but I knew that God was still there despite it all. I just needed a reminder that it was not all in my own hands & that God has good, good plans for me. I am so grateful for this rough patch because it made me even more grateful for God’s faithfulness to me.
“who will say to the king, ‘what are you doing?’’ - Ecclesiastes 8:4
in this life we are going to face tension, but we must live to fight another day. & we have to trust that God sees & hears us in our hardship - the Bible books of James & 1st Peter speak to how Christ endured suffering for us so that we may have joy & purpose in our own suffering. we have no power over our own days!!! this is an invitation to lean further into the arms of a magnificent, all-knowing Father. will you take it?
“there is a time & way for everything, although man’s trouble lies heavy on him.” - Ecc. 8:6
sometimes, the only thing that we can do, the most holy thing at that, is be quiet & remember whose we are & to what we are called. a Kingdom work greater than ourselves is at hand for us to willingly participate in - in fact, we are invited to sit at the King’s table & be still for Him to take care of us!
the enemy will lie. he will say that wickedness will have the upper hand. this is vanity too! do not buy the lie.
we are never going to be able to figure out this life, but we can trust Him with ALL of it & keep Him as our heart’s affection, am I right?
this is my reminder to you to be where your feet are!!! God has given you each moment to enjoy, to thank Him for. say no to the “what used to be” & “what could be” thoughts because life is too short to dwell on anything except our Lord & the present moment. God is God, we are not, & that is enough in the right now. take a deep breath!
⛅️ something I’ve learned: a reminder of a good Father who answers prayers! just going to testify real quick: I have just learned again & again that the Lord is so faithful!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is intentional with His children & wants them to know of His love on the deepest level. He would never withhold Himself from us because He likes us, loves us, & delights in us. we have the fullness of the Holy Spirit because Jesus died for me & for you, not because of what we did to deserve such a gift. don’t stop praying! I beg you!
