Oscar hurried towards the back of the ship. There were only storage and bunk rooms towards this end of the ship, so it wouldn’t take long to look. Once he reached the end, he’d turn around and join up with Frank again.

In all honesty, he didn’t know what else to do. He knew their visitor had to have been Poseidon – unless there was another god at play, or the Kraken was tricking him – and he also knew it wouldn’t bode well for him if he didn’t follow the god’s orders.

He’s more powerful than the great squid...at least that’s what I’m counting on.

But why doesn’t he kill the Kraken? Or at least banish him or something? What’s the game here? Are they really working together, or is there a rivalry or what exactly?

As he made his way, Oscar paused at each door to listen, then knocked before opening. It took longer than he’d have liked, but he wasn’t surprised at what he learned.

Nobody here.

Oscar spun on his heels and sprinted towards the front of the ship. He suspected Frank might give up too soon, or be too afraid to have made much progress, so he was surprised to hear a shrill voice echo through the empty ship.

“Hey, Oscar...can you hear me? I found something...I need your help!”

Something’s off.

Oscar paused outside the bridge and listened closely. He heard soft breathing, but that was all.

“You can come in now, Oscar. Frank has been telling me about the way you’ve been acting. He thinks you’re losing it. I have to say that I agree.”
