February has been one hell of a month, hasn’t it?

For as much as being self-conscious has been a baseline state

For me all my life, I’ve been forced to realize something lately;

Treating myself like I’m a monster only makes me become one more.

As in—it amplifies it; it’s what I become to myself, to the world.

And for as much as I see this clinging truth to my monstrous

Self, I don’t need to condemn myself to a lifetime of ugliness

And repression and bitterness and exile; I can be light and understood

And beautiful—an ethereal monster full of truth and wonder.
