We’re excited to share our invested in Palette, a Copenhagen-based team building an AI-native collaboration and work management platform, as part of its seed round. We co-led the pre-seed round with Emblem last year and continued our investment in the seed round led by Ugly Duckling Ventures, alongside a strong group of Nordic operator-angels — including leaders from Airtame, Astralis, Boozt, and Tonsser.
Every team wants to use AI, but the ground underneath keeps shifting. New models arrive every few months, each better at something different, and picking "the best one" has turned into a permanent chore instead of a one-time decision. Compounding that, most AI adoption today happens person by person — someone figures out a workflow that works with a given agent, but that knowledge rarely travels beyond them. As Palette puts it, "what one person learned with an agent rarely helped anyone else." Context fragments across tools, sessions, and individuals just as fast as the models themselves change.
Palette’s answer starts from a simple philosophy: own the context, swap the model. The durable asset — a company’s context, workflows, files, and decisions — should belong to the team, not to whichever AI vendor happens to be ahead this quarter. Models, by contrast, should stay easy to swap in and out as the frontier moves.
That philosophy shows up first as Palette Desktop, a shared place for a team and its agents to work. Inside it, a team can work with Claude Code, Codex, Gemini, Mistral, Palette, and other supported agents directly on their own files and folders — choosing whichever agent fits a given task, working in a separate session, and reviewing changes before they save back. It’s a deliberately agent-agnostic layer sitting on top of a fast-moving model landscape.
Longer term, Palette is building toward Palette OS, which the team describes as the foundation for AI-native teams: a living context library that stays current, shared skills that work across agents, connections to company tools, and handoffs between AI sessions.
Palette was founded in Copenhagen, Denmark by Lars Ettrup (CEO), Brian Kyed (CCO), Christian Lomholt (CPO), and Steffen Sommer (CTO) — an experienced group with a track record of building and exiting companies together. That pedigree, combined with the conviction they brought to a category we weren’t initially excited about, is a big part of why we backed them early and why we’re backing them again now. Our diligence on the team came back resoundingly positive, and watching them turn founder conviction into a working product and a credible go-to-market plan over the past year and a half has reinforced our confidence.
The Nordics have long been a sophisticated proving ground for work technology, and Palette’s early traction there is the foundation for the Pan-European and global expansion ahead. AI has opened a real opportunity to rethink how work gets done and how team management can be supported by software — not by digitizing legacy processes and workflows. We think Palette is positioned to disrupt from outside the traditional work stack, and this seed round gives the team the capital to build out the product, accelerate its customer acquisition, and prove that thesis at scale.
Congratulations to Lars, Brian, Christian, Steffen, and the entire Palette team — and to our co-investors at Ugly Duckling Ventures and Emblem. We’re proud to keep building with you. Read more about Palette on their blog and in Tech.eu.
