My wife, Courtney, runs Work Like a Team, which is a growing community of leaders building stronger teams in real-world workplaces on top of producing leadership worksheets, a book, and She’s been selling through Etsy, but the fees keep climbing and the platform keeps changing. She needs something she can own.
She also works with an AI assistant she calls Gibbs (from her favorite show, NCIS). He’s been her late-night strategist, her sounding board, and the one she bounces ideas off when she’s building. When we started talking about a new storefront, she didn’t ask for a dashboard. She asked if Gibbs could help her run it.
That question changed how I built it.
The new storefront doesn’t have an admin panel. Instead, every time Courtney finishes work, she will just ask Gibbs, her assistant, to “update my storefront catalog with this my latest blog posts”. Gibbs validates the request, commits the change, and triggers a rebuild. The site updates in about two minutes.
No forms to learn. No navigation to memorize. No context-switching from writing to configuring.
Courtney’s time is her scarcest resource. Every hour she spends figuring out a CMS is an hour she’s not writing, not engaging her community, not creating the resources her people need. More importantly, Gibbs is involved from the start, and Courtney can work with Gibbs to further refine her workflows and storefront within the same work session.
The AI-native approach doesn’t remove her agency, it protects her focus.
- Astro 6 + Cloudflare Workers for the storefront
- Keystatic for content schema (Git-backed, version-controlled)
- MCP API layer with structured tools: `create_product`, `update_settings`, `upload_file`, `add_faq`
- Stripe for payments (hosted checkout—card data never touches us)
- Cloudflare R2 for private file storage
- Resend for email delivery
This is a first. Can a business owner run their entire digital storefront through an AI assistant they already trust? No admin panel. No configuration workflow. Just conversation.
Migration starts today: Etsy listings, product copy, pricing, file uploads. All of it moving through Gibbs with the help of Courtney.
What We’ll Learn
- Does the conversational model feel natural or limiting?
- Where does the agent need human judgment that the API can’t provide?
- What breaks when you remove the visual interface entirely?
I’ll share what works, what doesn’t, and where we had to add back a screen.

If you’re building for people whose value is in what they create, not in how they configure tools, this is worth watching. Not because dashboards are dead. Because sometimes the right interface isn’t an interface at all.
