In biblical literature, the wilderness is different than a camping trip.
It’s a formational place with dangers and unknowns. A place of meaning and wonder. There’s tension. Dry areas. Silence. Flourishing. Miracles. Unexpected twists, and turns. There’s a cast of characters, including a complex God.
I knew when I entered my grad program, I wanted to expand the vocabulary had created in my show, Grief House. This new work contains many stories and concepts for other worlds, new stories, and larger bodies of work.
This thesis artwork is conceptual narrative realism, and it’s a leap Into the Wilderness. I can’t wait to share more about the work and my time at University of Hartford it in the months to come!
