Our daughter is almost three now. She goes to the daycare for longer periods now and can play by herself. We are slowly finding our rhythms back after three years of hardcore parenting.

I’m working in the Google Core Data team on GoogleSQL AKA ZetaSQL. My last year has mostly been about shipping Pipe SQL syntax, which I had a lot of fun working on.

Until April ’25, I was doing pretty well on physical activities front, running and going to the gym. Unfortunately, the last three months have been filled with infections, injuries and other medical issues for our family. Things seems to be moving towards better now, and I am hoping I can start being more active soon.

I’ve read and worked through a bunch of compiler and programming languages related books in the last five years. Now, I’m consolidating all my experience and knowledge, and I’d soon like to create a programming language of my own.

I spent last couple of months working on this website, and on yet-to-be-published blog posts. I keep getting lost in yak shaving, but I’m slowly starting to wrap up all my half-done projects. I’ve also starting going to some user group meetings (Rust BLR and Functional Programming India) and Indieweb Club meetups. Meeting like-minded people is energizing, and is helping me recover from the parenting burnout.

Arun and I spent some time migrating the stic.earth services from Digital Ocean to Hetzner, and adding some new services1. That was a fun side-project.

In the coming months, I want to get back to a more active, more productive and more fulfilling lifestyle. I hope luck favours me.

  1. stic.earth services are invite-only and paid at-cost. Reach out to an existing member if you’d like an invite.↩︎
