As previously mentioned, I typically do 90% of my journalism as daily posts to my social media journals, especially Occupy Arkansas & World Citizen Wire, and this Substack journal will serve primarily as a recapitulation of my recent posts, except when I find time and inspiration to write a more scholarly article to a more formal journal like Covert Action Magazine. The following is the last couple weeks posts related to the recent news of the Nobel Peace Prize being awarded to an extreme right wing warmongering puppet of US-NATO-Zionist Empire, Maria Machado.
I am also including other recent posts related to NYC Mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani bending the knee to US imperialism, ultimately supporting Trump’s looming oil war on Venezuela. As I point out below, Mamdani caving to this and dramatically softening his previously appropriate tone on Israel, along with the Democrat Elite response to Israeli brutalization of Greta Thunberg & the Sumud Flotilla activists, further demonstrates the nature of the genocidal corporate-imperialist counter-revolutionary “Democratic” Party, a party that has repeatedly given us Trump.
Not only has the Democrat Party given us Trump by their “Pied Piper Strategy” to help him win his primary and massively rigging primaries against the far more popular candidate Bernie Sanders, but they have also massively laid the groundwork for Trump’s fascism. I write such things because endless war is the most ugly and disgusting thing on the planet, and both US imperialist genocidal war parties are defined by it. If there is any hope to be found escaping this seemingly hopeless dystopia we find ourselves in, it must be, like a political doctor, via making a clear eyed examination of the disease, and coming to see we need Radical Opposition, which the “Democratic” Party has a deep history of extinguishing with extreme prejudice.

Sometimes good people get the Nobel Peace Prize like MLK, Rotblatt, ICAN et al, and sometimes horrible people & warmongers get it, like Kissinger & Obama. Unfortunately, this is a case of the latter, a woman aligned with US-NATO-Zionist Imperialism & everlasting coups in Venezuela & Latin America. This news is especially atrocious given Trump just moved a Naval Fleet to Venezuela’s coast, is threatening invasion & bombing boatloads of civilians to trigger war. She is an empire darling puppet like Juan Guaido. Disgusting.

So the US-Zionist imperial coup puppet Maria Machado, literally funded by regime change arms of the US Govt was nominated for the Prize by members of the Trump Administration. She has openly called for sanctions to cripple Venezuela & for Trump & Israel to invade her country.
Now she dedicates the Nobel Prize to Trump & is welcoming war on Venezuela, all while Trump has a Naval Fleet on their coast threatening invasion & bombing boats of civilians...and I am STILL seeing scores of clueless Democrats & Liberals cheering on the mainstream media propaganda reports on Machado’s “Peace” Prize.
Too many people are failing at critical thinking & failing to see how we are lied to over & over by govt & corporate media. Its bewildering to know a massive percentage of the US population does not know how to properly question & think on these matters. I find comfort in knowing i am not alone in trying to wake up all the sleepy & lazy brains.

The Nobel Peace Prize committee could’ve given the prize to Greta, Francesca Albanese, or some other genuine hero for peace. Instead they chose to discredit the prize & rub stank fecal matter on their faces by giving it to a despicable puppet of US-zionist imperialism in a nation currently being massively targeted by Trump/USA for regime change & oil war. When I saw the headline “Maria Corina Machado Wins the Nobel Peace Prize,” I almost laughed at the absurdity. But I didn’t, because there’s nothing funny about rewarding someone whose politics have brought so much suffering. Anyone who knows what she stands for knows there’s nothing remotely peaceful about her politics.
If this is what counts as “peace” in 2025, then the prize itself has lost every ounce of credibility. I’m Venezuelan-American, and I know exactly what Machado represents. She’s the smiling face of Washington’s regime-change machine, the polished spokesperson for sanctions, privatization, and foreign intervention dressed up as democracy.
Machado’s politics are steeped in violence. She has called for foreign intervention, even appealing directly to Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the architect of Gaza’s annihilation, to help “liberate” Venezuela with bombs under the banner of “freedom.” She has demanded sanctions, that silent form of warfare whose effects—as studies in The Lancet and other journals have shown —have killed more people than war, cutting off medicine, food, and energy to entire populations.
Machado has spent her entire political life promoting division, eroding Venezuela’s sovereignty, and denying its people the right to live with dignity.
Machado isn’t a symbol of peace or progress. She is part of a global alliance between fascism, Zionism, and neoliberalism, an axis that justifies domination in the language of democracy and peace.
This is who Maria Corina Machado really is:
She helped lead the 2002 coup that briefly overthrew a democratically elected president, and signed the Carmona Decree that erased the Constitution and dissolved every public institution overnight.
She worked hand in hand with Washington to justify regime change, using her platform to demand foreign military intervention to “liberate” Venezuela through force.
She cheered on Donald Trump’s threats of invasion and his naval deployments in the Caribbean, a show of force that risks igniting regional war under the pretext of “combating narcotrafficking.” While Trump sent warships and froze assets, Machado stood ready to serve as his local proxy, promising to deliver Venezuela’s sovereignty on a silver platter.
She pushed for the US sanctions that strangled the economy, knowing exactly who would pay the price: the poor, the sick, the working class.
She helped construct the so-called “interim government,” a Washington-backed puppet show run by a self-appointed “president” who looted Venezuela’s resources abroad while children at home went hungry.
She vows to reopen Venezuela’s embassy in Jerusalem, aligning herself openly with the same apartheid state that bombs hospitals and calls it self-defense.
Now she wants to hand over the country’s oil, water, and infrastructure to private corporations. This is the same recipe that made Latin America the laboratory of neoliberal misery in the 1990s.
Machado was also one of the political architects of La Salida, the 2014 opposition campaign that called for escalated protests, including guarimba tactics. Those weren’t “peaceful protests” as the foreign press claimed; they were organized barricades meant to paralyze the country and force the government’s fall. Streets were blocked with burning trash and barbed wire, buses carrying workers were torched, and people suspected of being Chavista were beaten or killed. Even ambulances and doctors were attacked. Some Cuban medical brigades were nearly burned alive. Public buildings, food trucks, and schools were destroyed. Entire neighborhoods were held hostage by fear while opposition leaders like Machado cheered from the sidelines and called it “resistance.”
She praises Trump’s “decisive action” against what she calls a “criminal enterprise,” aligning herself with the same man who cages migrant children and tears families apart under ICE’s watch, while Venezuelan mothers search for their children disappeared by US migration policies.
If Henry Kissinger could win a Peace Prize, why not María Corina Machado? Maybe next year they’ll give one to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation for “compassion under occupation.”

In Venezuela, that alliance has meant coups, sanctions, and privatization. In Gaza, it means genocide and the erasure of a people. The ideology is the same: a belief that some lives are disposable, that sovereignty is negotiable, and that violence can be sold as order.

Every time this award is handed to an architect of violence disguised as diplomacy, it spits in the face of those who actually fight for peace: the Palestinian medics digging bodies from rubble, the journalists risking their lives in Gaza to document the truth and the humanitarian workers of the Flotilla sailing to break the siege and deliver aid to starving children in Gaza, with nothing but courage and conviction.
But real peace is not negotiated in boardrooms or awarded on stages. Real peace is built by women organizing food networks during blockades, by Indigenous communities defending rivers from extraction, by workers who refuse to be starved into obedience, by Venezuelan mothers mobilizing to demand the return of children seized under U.S. ICE and migration policies and by nations that choose sovereignty over servitude.
That’s the peace Venezuela, Cuba, Palestine, and every nation of the Global South deserves.

Van Jones is getting paid Big Money to run Zionist propaganda to whitewash Israeli genocide. Trying to blame Iran for people seeing the truth about Israeli crimes. The problem is Israel, not Iran. The problem is kids being killed, not people seeing too many dead kid posts.

Trita Parsi ftw in slamming Van Jones despicable propaganda for genocide & in slamming Van’s despicable “apology”. The most important part going under-analyzed is the censorship piece.
“Van Jones is giving us a preview of the campaign Bari Weiss and Oracle will run to justify their coming censorship of CNN, CBS News, and TikTok.
Their pro-Israel censorship is not censorship at all, they will claim, but rather a counter to an imagined disinformation campaign run by Iran and Qatar (!!!) that causes these platforms to show what is actually happening in Gaza: A genocide of children conducted by Israel and defended by plenty of folks in the US, many of them on Israel’s payroll.

You apologize for the most morally repulsive part of your comment (laughing about dead Gaza babies), yet double down on the politically most consequential part - the foreign influence allegation.
First of all, you are claiming that had it not been for foreign gov manipulation, Americans wouldn’t see so many dead Gaza babies on their TikTok feeds.
No, had it not been for Israel committing a genocide, there wouldn’t have been so many dead innocent children on our feeds. You are once again excusing Israel’s genocide by claiming that the circulation of these images is all because of social media manipulation and not because most Americans are very decent human beings who have a natural distaste for the mass killings of children and want to do something to stop it, even if only by sharing videos to raise awareness.
Second, what is your evidence that this unproven manipulation is being committed by Qatar and Iran? You have presented none so far. In fact, no one has managed to produce any public evidence for this claim.
I hope you present some credible proof, because given the evidence that Israel is paying influencers to repeat unproven talking points, there will naturally be some curiosity as to whether you made this statement based on evidence and a genuine belief (however misguided) or based on some sort of arrangement with the Israeli government.

Obama was transparently fascist to those that can see through plastic smiles & masks of propaganda, as he broke records for imprisoning whistleblowers, signed the NDAA indefinite detention without charge or trial into law, oversaw a NSA mass (s surveillance program, set records for deportations of immigrants, vastly expanded global drone assassinations (incl some Americans), etc.
When we talk about Trump being fascist, we must also know he stands on the shoulders of Giants like (1) Obama,
(2) Bush/Cheney with their “Unitary Executive,” “extraordinary rendition,” “enhanced interrogation,” “Global War on Terror,” warrantless wiretapping, etc
(3) Clinton with his Mass Incarceration Crime Bill, Media Monopoly (Telecom) Act, Wall St Deregulation, etc
