This newsletter was supposed to go out last month. But just like last time, I allowed myself to rest and recharge. July found me in a slump, so I decided to take a vacation and just relax. Time in the mountains, time by the beach, and time in the city, somewhere in Asia, was rejuvenating.
I'd like to say the two weeks I took off gave me more clarity and enough rest, but I can't confirm for sure. I’ve been hitting highs and lows. And now it’s clearer than ever that I have mental fog, probably burnout. Of course, there's more to it. I’ll open up more about mental illness diagnoses and share in a blog post soon.
But we’re back! GPT-5 was announced last week, and I’m catching up on it!
More Keynotes and talks
I had a chance to recreate my keynote moments here at home at the AI Summit Nairobi, hosted by Kaizen Afrika.
What else, because there’s always something else:
Past talks: Panel session at the office with Akira Chik, an Agents Workshop at Zetech University, and AI Summit Kenya Keynote.
Upcoming talks: OSCA Fest, I want to meet eveyone!!!
Model Mondays: I’ll be hosting 3 episodes of Model Mondays in the upcoming weeks. Register and join me as we explore different models.
The In-Betweens
It is the in-betweens, so we just enjoy life with its ebbs and flows.
Here’s what’s up:
Hobby: I got a LEGO set, and built the cutest set of happy plants. Additionally, I have been walking and hiking more, nature has a way of healing the soul, body and mind.
Podcast: I have been listening to the Diary of a CEO, the episode by Simon Sinek on AI is a must listen to. Whether a pessimist or optimist, we are sure AI is going to change the world. Also, catching up on all my favourite podcasts and one that always stands out is Financially Incorrect, not sure what they are doing, but I love it.
Show: rewatching animated films including The School of Good and Evil and Mitchell and the Machines. And I finally got to watch F1 in cinemas! 10/10 recommend! And also binged Building the Band!!!! What a show. Also, 1/10 recommend going to reddit while watching a show.
Fiction: I read more of Jenny Han triologies, and was pretty good.
Non-fiction: Wrapped up on Regrets of the Dying, it was a heavy read. Then I got to read on the Power of Now and The art of Danish Living.
Experiences: Girl brunches and yapping! That's the word.
Beauty in the Mundane
My theme for the year is Beauty.
And one thing I’ve appreciated this past week? Sleeping with my cats on my feet!
