I turned a year older on April 9th, and I’m still surprised by how many people share this day with me — including my cousin, who just turned 9 (and yes, I still haven’t gotten her a gift. Soon, little one. Soon.)
April marks the end of my Q4, and I took myself out on a solo date to reflect on life so far — and honestly? I was wowed. I love my little life. I love everything about it — even the tough times. But mostly, I love the friends who’ve walked with me as I grow older. I didn’t win the lottery when it comes to family, but when it comes to friendship? I definitely did.
Right now, I’m on a trip — in the land of many hills — sipping on chai and celebrating Easter. And writing about AI and the in-betweens. Could life get any better?
What’s been up? I’ve generally slowed down, especially since I’m on vacation. I went to the office a few days — just to host a Kahoot! — and now I’m catching up on announcements while prepping my next set of talks and blog posts.
Oh, and yes — I’m back creating content! I’ve started a new YouTube series, posted a new TikTok, and I’m working on my content calendar for the next quarter.
I’m back, baby!!
Okay, I was actually building my first agent, when the announcements started rolling in. First: what is an MCP server? Anyone? Because I’m still fumbling. Then came the Ghibli-style images.
And just when I decided to take a break, bam! — A2A and new models launched, left, right, and center. It might be my imposter syndrome talking, but catching up while on vacation? Not looking good, bruv. Anyway, here’s the round-up:
We’ve launched a new series on Agents → come build with us! I’ve got a talk on the 6th of May — save the date!
We wrapped up the Data + AI Hack. Kenya to the world, my guys! 🌍 The closing ceremony is on the morning of April 25th. Can’t wait! (P.S. I wasn’t one of the judges, but the feedback? Chef’s kiss.)
I have a talk on Agents + Prompty. Am I prepared? Not really. But you can catch me rambling through it here — it's live today!
Microsoft Build is coming up — and we’re updating the lab. If you're attending in person, there’s something special for you. One day, I hope to travel and facilitate it in person. For now, I’m glad to be behind the scenes shaping this masterpiece.
I’ve been catching up on the MCP hype — here’s what I’m reading:
And yes… did we break a Guinness World Record? I hope so — we hosted a global, multilingual GitHub Copilot Agent Mode session (the English version), and it was massive.
I picked up live drawing (or something like that). I’ve been sketching everywhere — and I like it.
Here’s what’s up:
Hobby: Not confident enough to share my just yet, but here’s a little Easter-inspired series I did 🐣
Podcast: Still hooked on Financially Incorrect. The episode with Carol Musyoka? 10/10.
Show: Abbott Elementary! Ava’s redemption arc was satisfying — but the season ended 😢. Might rewatch. Also bingeing Brooklyn 99 — if you haven’t watched it, this is your assignment.
Fiction: The Rom-Commers by Katherine Center. It has me convinced I could write a rom-com one day. I’m here for it.
Non-fiction: Still unfinished, but working on it:
The Art of Danish Living by Meik Wiking
You Are a Badss at Making Money* by Jen Sincero
Experiences:
Took a spontaneous trip to Rwanda — because, why not?
I’ve been acing solo and girlfriend dates — from Tea-goni (ifykyk) to The View (ngl, I almost fumbled).
Okay, let me finish exploring Rwanda then come back and complete my review. 😄
That’s it for the in-betweens. 💫
My theme for the year is Beauty.
And one thing I’ve appreciated this month? Finding Joy.
Have you drank tea while it’s raining cats and dogs? try it!
