At the end of April, I hit 100 haiku. This happened on purpose, but somehow I was still surprised by the facts that 1) the year is a third over and 2) I stuck with the project despite life being… lifey.
I wrote back in March that this project has had a grounding effect, acting like a “canary in the coalmine” for my inner life, and this has remained true. The last few weeks I’ve found it harder to write them, and there’s a direct correlation between that and a clouded mind (and not enough time outside). I’m still very proud of sticking with it.
