As I was combing the Nordstrom sale for us, a few things struck me: namely that it’s backwards and while most stores are discounting summer, Nordstrom puts the brand-new fall arrivals on sale before the season starts. Since I’m usually styling within the season, it’s a thinking exercise for me – what will we want to reach for come September when the temps cool and we’re craving sleeves and pants? For me that looks like shades of green we treat like neutrals, elevating looks with suede and rich textures, and a new take on ‘prep’ that leans more on soccer club than boat house.
I went through the whole sale and grouped my finds into these categories, and it wouldn’t be a hit list if Your Stylist didn’t make some outfits too. Here’s what to shop:
