Gabe crawled to the tree line and slumped back into the support of a broad, mossy trunk. He sighed deeply, and reached for the flask in his tweed jacket pocket. Adam sat on his heels, kneeling in the warm sand, while Gabe patted around his jacket, his pants, with growing panic. Then he realized the flask was gone and he slumped. When he raised his head and saw Adam following his realization, he sighed and smiled ruefully.
