Hello everyone,
On this April Fool’s Day, with all joking aside, I wanted to give you a brief update and attempt to explain my extended period of silence here on Substack.
Let me start with an apology. I have been negligent in providing good communication here, and an update is way overdue. For this, I am sorry. Full stop.
Now for the explanation…
For the last two months, I’ve been dealing with a few things that are directly related to what I wrote here about the Third Wave. They have taken up a lot of my mental bandwidth. For a while, I was trying to fill the gap in my essays by posting reflections on the daily readings. But my attention was increasingly required elsewhere, and I wasn’t able to continue.
Through all of this, with what time and mental bandwidth remained, I have actually been doing a lot of writing and editing, just not here. I’ve been working on the book I’ve mentioned in a few interviews. It has gone through a theological review, and I’m currently working with a copy editor. All of this is a first-time experience for me, so I won’t dare venture a guess at how long the process will take. But I’m happy with the way it’s coming along.
That said, I’m almost to the point where I can give more attention to finishing the story I’ve been telling. I don’t think it will require too many more entries to complete it. I hope to resume Prima Verba sometime next week and get two or three more entries done this month, before I head to France on a pilgrimage.
