ASIF AZAD · A1 EXPERIENCE

⚡️ TL,DR

I started with a YouTube channel named “BHAI BROTHERS LIMITED” in 2013 with no benchmarks to follow. Spent a decade learning that agencies create chaos, not value. Went direct to brands like Grameenphone and Coca-Cola. Failed at building a community called BeDeshi.

Finally, Launched A1 Experience on Substack in April. Over 1,000 people showed up in 14 days. Steve Jobs was right—you can only connect the dots looking backward.

This is my journey from 2013 Bhai Brothers Limited to 2026 The Limitless Space

Over a decade of learning curves, mistakes, agencies, and finally figuring it out.

2013. Bangladesh. Zero blueprints of Content or Creation.

I named my youtube channel BHAI BROTHERS LIMITED, currently @TheAsifAzad.

Not because I had a company. Not because I had partners. I just thought it sounded corporate. Sounded serious. Sounded like something people would take seriously.

It was vibes. That’s it.

But here’s the thing — I treated it like a project from day one. And that one decision? Changed everything.

The Trap Nobody Warned Me About.

AdSense pays peanuts. Figured that out fast.

So you chase brand deals. And brand deals bring agencies.

That’s when the real trap begins.

Picture it: Some “creative agency” texts you on WhatsApp.

No letterhead. No contract. No Paperwork!

Just: “Bro, 20k Taka. Post Friday. Promote this SIM package.”

“The budget for this project is lower. I promise to compensate for it in the next project.” This is the most common dialogue every creator has heard.

You deliver. They delay. You follow up. They ghost 👻

This happened on repeat for years. And I kept falling for it because I didn’t understand the game.

Then I mapped it out.

Every deal has four players

Creator → Agency → Brand → Audience

1. You — the creator

2. Brand — the money

3. Agency — the “bridge”

4. The Audience — the only one who actually matters

The agency is supposed to connect you to the brand.

Instead? They become the wall.

They feed you briefs that insult your audience’s intelligence. They slow everything down. They take the cut. And when the deal falls apart, it’s somehow your fault.

“100% Creative Control.” Sure.

Every agency says it.

Then comes the revision number 47.

Everyone loses in the process.

Your audience smells inauthenticity from miles away.

The “Agency” has always been the broken plank that separates the creator from the brand, creating a broken bridge between them.

I remember the Coca-Cola Diet campaign. They wanted me as the face.

Show up. Read lines. Collect check.

I said no to that offer.

I pitched the whole campaign. Pre-production to post. I became the protagonist, not the talent.

That video ended up on Coca-Cola’s international YouTube channel.

No agency made that happen. I did — by studying Nita Higa, Paul Brothers, Vsauce and Smosh like textbooks and learning how to pitch like a professional.

The Math That Changed My mindset my miles

  • Sell to 2 people at $500 each

  • Not 50 people at $20 each

You earn the same, $1000

but

Hassle Free + Peace of mind = WIN 🙌🏼

That’s it. That’s the whole lesson.

I stopped waiting for agencies to validate me.

I approached Grameenphone directly. Biggest telco in Bangladesh.

My first direct client. No middleman. No drama. No WhatsApp ghosting.

When you cut the chaos out, you keep your energy for the actual work.

I wanted to build a community and connect with like-minded people , for real!

So i built an WhatsApp community.

Over 800 people applied to BEদেশী (BeDeshi)

I screened every single one.

200 made the cut.

Free. Vetted. Real people.

And then I went quiet for almost two years.

Not because life got in the way. Because I had no idea what to actually give them.

No roadmap. No clarity. No plan.

I had 200 human beings sitting in a community I built — and I froze.

Here’s the bottleneck nobody talks about: Members don’t talk!!!!!!

I’d post something. Silence. I’d go quiet for a week.

They went incognito. No juice. No signal. Nothing to work with.

I couldn’t figure out what they needed because they weren’t telling me. And I didn’t know how to ask.

So I did what made sense — I went and studied.

Joined communities. Not just one. Many.

Different sizes. Different countries. Different purposes. Tech communities, creator circles, diaspora groups, paid masterminds.

I signed up as a member.

Watched how the good ones ran. Watched how the bad ones died.

Took mental notes on everything.

Then came the decision that changed everything.

I started writing haha —. It’s funny because writing was never my thing. Still isn’t, really. I’m a filmmaker, a storyteller, a video guy. Words on a page?

Not my natural habitat or my element.

But I brain-dumped anyway.

Everything I knew. Everything I’d learned. Everything I’d seen in a decade of building in Bangladesh’s creator economy.

Just raw knowledge. Dumped into Notion. Shared the links in my Instagram Channel

No strategy. No SEO. No content calendar.

Just: here’s what I know, let’s see who cares.

To my surprise

30,000 unique active readers showed up — From around the world!!!

Started writing in Notion from September 2025 and studied every metric, graph, highs, lows, CTR, retention and whatever was required

That’s when I found it.

My topic. My niche. What people actually want to know from me.

Not theory. Not frameworks borrowed from another BS podcast.

My lived experience. First-hand. Unfiltered.

But Notion has limits. Hard ones.

Can’t grow on it. Can’t build on it. Can’t monetize properly. Can’t own your audience.

It’s a notes app pretending to be a platform.

I needed something real.

A for first-hand experience

1 for the one thing you leave with

Not a rebrand but a build up and a revamped version of what I wanted to build.

  • 6 April 2026: I started A1 Experience on Substack

  • Fourteen days later: 2,000+ people viewing and reading

  • 200+ Subscribed.

I kept the payment option off for obvious reasons.

Steve Jobs said is so right about connecting the dots

”You can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backward.”

BHAI BROTHERS LIMITED.

Limited knowledge.

Limited resources.

Limited everything.

The Limitless Space: what I have been building for over a year now — A1 EXPERIENCE is front end and the community for y’all to a be a part of.

No agencies. No gatekeepers. Just creator, audience, and real work.

Your Move

You don’t need an agency’s permission to pitch Coca-Cola.

You need a deck. A clear offer. And the guts to go direct.

The creator economy in Bangladesh isn’t coming. It’s here. But only for those building direct relationships.

Stop consuming content. Start studying it.

That’s all for today. Until next one
