A dominant win over Japan leaves Les Kiss with a genuine midfield conundrum, halves clarity, and plenty to smile about heading to Argentina

It’s amazing what a difference a comprehensive Wallabies win does for the psyche of Australian supporters.

The Sunday afterthoughts are all happy and forward-looking, and the commute on the Monday morning doesn’t feel quite so tedious. All is well in the world again. Let me add, it’s a whole lot easier to jump into live post-match content too!

But the best thing about the Wallabies’ 56-17 win over Japan in Townsville was that the talking points were many and varied. And almost exclusively positive. What a difference a week and glorious conditions make.

And if I’m honest, most of the talking points through my feeds were constructive. No calls for massive change or any need for overhaul, but simple ponderings. Could the scrum or lineout be even stronger if they did this? What about if they tried this from a clearing kick? Is this a better line to run in midfield?

No headlines of what Les Kiss ‘must’ do in the days following, either.

Just plenty of good stuff to talk about. Here’s but a couple of those many and varied talking points.
