Second Chance Dog Rescue is a foster-based dog rescue. That means every dog you see in our care is living in a home, not a shelter, thanks to the dedication of our volunteer fosters. Everything we do is powered by people giving their time, energy, and heart.
Because of that, we do things differently, including how we communicate.
We don’t publish often, and that’s intentional.
We relied heavily on our volunteers, and our priority is always the dogs. For daily cuteness, and latest info check our Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, and our website. On Substack, we focus on meaningful, thoughtful communication.
That said, we may post more often during urgent medical cases or critical funding needs. These are the moments we lean on our community to keep this work going.
We tried our best to update the community every three months. We’ll share a roundup of rescue stories, organization related news, dog related tidbits, and possibly some behind-the-scenes magic.
If you’re a current foster or thinking about becoming one, we share more regular posts for you. These will almost always be a call-to-action for fosters availabilities. We can’t pull dogs out of shelters if we don’t have fosters to take them. For more on that, see our pinned post:
We know some of you are here specifically for foster-related information, and we love that.
Substack doesn’t make it obvious, but here’s how you can choose to receive only certain types of posts:
