Hey 247 Comics Fam,

Rob Liefeld is one of the all time greats in comics.

This guy made history, he impacted the comic book industry as much as anyone has. He created Deadpool, Cable and X-Force for Marvel, all when he was around twenty years old. Then at age 23, he became one of the co-founders of Image Comics. He was the one who brought Image to Malibu for distribution. He created their flagship title Youngblood, which set records and launched Image into the stratosphere. He’s created thousands of characters for Marvel and for his work. He was such an iconic part of comics during the ‘90s heyday, he was even featured in a Spike Jonze Levi’s commercial.

I call him Pastor Rob. I always tune into his podcast Robservation during my runs in the morning. If you haven’t checked it out, you need to.

Which is why I’m so thrilled for 247 Comics to present a newly remastered version of Rob Liefeld’s NEWMEN.

In NEWMEN, a group of ‘Nu-Gene” positive adolescents, born with alien DNA that gives them superhuman abilities, band together to navigate a world that fears their extraterrestrial powers and the growing threat posed by their existence.

Rob Liefeld created NEWMEN, with scripts by Eric Stephenson (the current publisher of Image Comics) and art by Jeff Matsuda. It’s coming to you from 247 Comics this fall. But before that, we will have a limited number of copies available of NEWMEN Special #1 at San Diego Comic-Con.

NEWMEN Special #1 comes with a stellar new cover penciled by Lucas Lee-Garza, with inks by Bill Sienkiewicz and colors by Gregory Wright:
