Gluttony… it’s something I still struggle to fully understand. Eating more than your body can handle, just because you can, just because it’s there—it’s a sin. Plain and simple.
Mr Downloader on TikTok, for example. Watching him eat mountains of food is entertaining, but pause for a second—why? He’s not eating out of hunger, he’s eating for attention, for likes, for content. And we watch, laugh, double-tap… and celebrate it.
That food could feed hundreds. But instead, it disappears in front of the camera, swallowed for views. Every bite taken without need, every meal consumed carelessly—it’s gluttony. And it’s not just about the food. It’s about forgetting discipline, ignoring your health, and losing sight of gratitude.
Gluttony makes you selfish. It numbs you to your body, to others, to reality. You think it’s just fun, but every moment of overindulgence is a moment wasted, a chance missed to live intentionally.
The crazy part? We all do it in some way—eating more than we need, scrolling more than we should, taking more than we deserve. And just like that, gluttony creeps in, quietly, until it controls you.
Moderation isn’t a weakness—it’s respect. Respect for your body. Respect for others. Respect for what you have. So the next time you’re tempted to overeat, or to binge just because it’s entertaining, pause. Ask yourself: Am I feeding my body, or just my desire?
With love
