RBI Says the Rupee Is Undervalued

According to The Hindu, the RBI believes the Indian rupee is currently undervalued, while FCNR(B) deposit inflows have crossed US$32 billion following recent policy measures.

The strong inflows have boosted India’s foreign exchange reserves and enhanced external stability, providing the RBI with greater flexibility in managing currency volatility.

India has strengthened digital cooperation with 24 countries by sharing its Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) framework.

The partnerships aim to promote secure digital payments, digital identity, and public service delivery while positioning India as a global leader in digital governance.

According to IBEF, fashion and apparel brands drove a 20% increase in organised retail leasing during the first half of 2026.

The expansion reflects rising consumer demand and continued investment by retailers in premium shopping destinations.

The World Gold Council reported that global gold demand remained broadly flat at 1,269 tonnes during the April-June quarter.

Central bank purchases and investment demand continued to support the market despite fluctuations in jewellery consumption.

According to Smartkarma, Bajaj Finance reported Q1 revenue of ₹231.65 billion, broadly meeting market expectations.

The performance reflects continued growth in lending operations despite a competitive environment.

Swiggy reported that its Q1 net loss narrowed to ₹791 crore, while revenue increased 37% year-on-year. Instamart’s gross order value also grew 40%, indicating sustained momentum in quick commerce.

The results suggest improving operating performance as the company continues investing in growth.
