Speed Read: Inside the Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere Vogue

I am writing this as I virtually sit in the longest online queue for museum tickets..estimated wait time is 77 minutes. Life is one big line. Just spitballing here…

I’ve been organizing my magazines and books, after shuffling stacks around and really testing the strength of my fake nails, I think I’ve gotten somewhere.

One of my favorite (American) Vogues to flip through is the November 1992 issue, otherwise known as the Cindy Crawford and Richard Gere issue. I made a video about it in January, on how a then 26-year-old Crawford aspired to be the Barbara Walters of her generation, and a then 43-year-old Gere was focused on “opening his heart”.

Collecting magazines today has become a mission of begging and pleading with eBay sellers who know what they have or worse, feel like they’re above USPS media mail.

This week I’ve included a speed read of this coveted Vogue issue. The best editorials, style advice, interviews and the most visually inventive advertisements. A world before AI models with 11 fingers and Bezos propaganda! The good old days…
