Despite being away for a bit, I don’t have time for the full-on packed post you deserve, so we’re gonna have to make do with some timely highlights and I’ll circle back for more at the end of the week.

Edit of a panel from Absolute Wonder Woman #18. Art and colors by Hayden Sherman and Jordie Bellaire

Yeah, so, first up — and announced just this last week — among an incredible list of nominees, ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN got 5 Eisner Nominations (Best Continuing Series, Best Writer, Best Penciller/Inker, Best Colorist, and Best Cover). It’s fantastic. And I am especially over the moon to see Hayden recognized for their exceptional interiors work.

But my boy Jeff is a diva and he does NOT like to be ignored and thus I am proud to share that the JEFF THE LAND SHARK: FRIENDS & RIVALS mini-series by me and Tokitokoro and colorist Jim Campbell got nominated in the Best Humor Book category!

Jeff Sketch by Tokitokoro — artist for the Eisner nominated Jeff The Land Shark: Friends & Rivals!

Guys. Jeff The Land Shark has 3 Eisner Nominations (and 1 win!)…WILD TIMES WE ARE LIVING IN.

Anyway, if you’re eligible to vote, please consider us when voting. And also, VOTING IS NOW OPEN! :D

I’ve also been so busy and delinquent in checking in here that I didn’t even have a chance yet to talk about ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN’S HUGO NOMINATION. A Hugo Nomination is something I have hoped and dreamed might come my way one day, but I am honestly over the moon it’s for Diana.

We also won Best Comic Book at the Astra Awards — which Hayden did a sweet little video for — thanking everyone on the team’s behalf.

Before we get into anything else, a quick bit of housekeeping! The orders have NOT shipped. I am so sorry, I know I’ve got about 20 or so of you waiting patiently (thank you). They’re sort of stuck in the second phase of the process (in my house), but I should be able to send them all out this week when I clear a script deadline and my back heals up a bit.

In the meantime, a pre-emptive new discount code for the webstore that will last into June — as I expect some new ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #20 in the shop shortly:

Spring Discount Code — just enter BLOOM22 at checkout for 22% off your order. Only one use per order.

I feel a bit like Ben Lyons here (never something I ever wanted to say or be — but if you know you know) as I’m gonna share the new Laika trailer for WILDWOOD for today’s One. Good. Thing. Laika is an incredible studio based here in Portland Oregon and they do just incredible stop motion work — some of the smartest and most creative people you know or would like to know work at Laika. There’s a real love of the work and of all art there. The kinda thing you especially love to see these days.

Just a couple of quick ABSOLUTE WONDER WOMAN #20 hits today before the issue and the preview release. This one is especially hard to share, for more than one reason, but you’ll all know soon enough! Art by Hayden Sherman, colors by Jordie Bellaire, lettering by Becca Carey.

Okay, more at the end of the week when I’ve done all my shipping and turned a couple scripts in. Don’t forget to vote for the Eisners if you’re eligible.
