Hike of a Day

Hello, everyone!

I hope your week has gone better than that of the England football team. Oooops! I don’t think I’ve seen a more spectacular self-inflicted collapse in football, ever.

Today, the wife took a day off and wanted to go for a hike. And we did. We jumped in the car and drove to Glendalough in the Wicklow Forest National Park. It is a bliss driving outside Dublin, the city of gridlocks. I read somewhere that in 2025, the average speed of the city was just above 13 km/h. The entire city, the whole 2025. Anyway, just over an hour later, we were in the mountains of Wicklow. Glendalough means the valley(Glen) between two(da) lakes(lough.) The area has, as you might expect, two lakes formed by melting glaciers at the end of the last ice age around 9000 years ago. If you spot any inaccuracies, please excuse me. After checking out the visitors’ area, which was just the car park, we went up to the trail head and started walking. Here’s some photos.
