Dear Friends,

I’m so excited to welcome Miles Rapoport and E.J. Dionne Jr. to Baltimore on March 29 to give talks about their new book “100% Democracy: The Case for Universal Civic Duty Voting.” I’ll be sharing registration links in the coming weeks to both virtual and in-person opportunities to engage with them about the provocative ideas in this book.

The book comes out next month and you can pre-order it here.

I love this book! It challenges each of us to think about our democracy in new ways regardless of whether we support universal civic duty voting, oppose universal civic duty voting, or haven’t formed an opinion yet. During Miles and EJ’s visit to Baltimore I’m excited to dive in with all of you to explore some of the important questions it raises.

  • How can we learn more from how elections are administered by governments and experienced by voters in other countries?

  • How can we broaden the conversation about voting rights policy in the United States to include more transformational ideas?

  • How can the participation of local leaders in communities all across the country play a critical role in shifting our understanding of what election policies are possible in the Untied States?

Stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks about Miles and EJ’s visit to Baltimore!
